How to Create a Partition in Windows 11,10,8.1,8 and 7
Creating a partition in Windows is very easy, for this we do not need to download any software, you can create a partition in any version of Windows by following some easy steps. We create a separate partition so that we can keep our important data safe. If any Windows file crashes, then we have to format Windows, by doing this the data is deleted from the “C” drive, Desktop, My Documents. That’s why we create partitions on our computers.
To create a partition in windows. We must have extra space in the drive. As if your hard drive is 500 GB, some of that space should be free. We cannot create more than 2 partitions apart from the C drive in Windows. Earlier we could create up to 4-6 partitions in Windows XP.

- Right-Click on This PC and Select Manage Option.
- The dialog box will open. We have to click on Disk Management.
- Right-click on the Unpartitioned space and select New Simple Volume.
- Enter the Size of the partition required, then click on Next.
- Now your partition is successfully created.
How to make partition in Windows 7
- Click on Start Menu go to Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools.
- After that open Computer Management.
- Under Strorage pannel, select Disk Management.
- Right-Click on unallocated space and select New Simple Volume.
- Click Next and Enter the size of the volume you want to create and then click Next.
- Format Partition Dialog box will come, click Next and then select Finish.
Windows 8 and 8.1
- Hold Window icon key on your keyboard + press “R”. After that Run utility will open.
- Type “diskmgmt.msc” inside the run utility box and hit Enter. This opens the Windows Disk Management.
- Right-click on Unallocated space and select New Simple Volume > Next.
- Enter Simple volume size in Megabytes.
- Click Next to keep the default selection of drive letter.
- Select Next to format the partition.
- Click Finish to complete the New Drive.
